Water/Wastewater Applied Vocational Education
The W2AVE has reached the shore and is spraying Red Rocks with a wealth of knowledge that is very important towards entry level and higher level certifications in Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Systems. No matter what your level of knowledge, there is something to be gained with each course in the very developed program series.
This is an entirely new educational program. It is intense training conducted over 5 consecutive days, 40 hours total. Each course is digitized and compliments the professional instructors who bring an immense amount of education and experience to the courses.
Students are advised to be prepared to discover all areas of the industry, from sources to finished deliverable product. Every detail is discussed in a format that was developed to maximize your learning potential.
Three courses are currently available:
- Entry Level Water Treatment Operations
- Entry Level Wastewater Treatment Operations
- Combined Level I-IV Distribution and Wastewater Collection Systems
Course Descriptions:
RMWAVE 121 - Entry Level Water Treatment Operations: This is a comprehensive course that covers all areas of applied operations and maintenance. Topics include Operations and Maintenance, Safety, Laboratory Analysis, 12 hours of applied mathematics, Environmental Applications, Source and Supply and Drinking Water Regulations, Sampling and Regulation 100. Topics are prepared in 4 and 2 hour increments.

RMWAVE 122 - Advanced Water Treatment Operations: This is a comprehensive course that covers all areas of applied operations and maintenance at the A and B license levels. Topics include Operations and Maintenance, Safety, Laboratory Analysis, 12 hours of applied mathematics, System Management, Emergency Treatment Techniques, Softening Systems, Ion Exchange, Corrosion Control, Reverse Osmosis and Demineralization. Environmental Applications, Source and Supply and Drinking Water Regulations, Sampling and Regulation 100. Topics are prepared in 4 and 2 hour increments.

Topics include Operations and Maintenance, Safety, Reuse Systems, Solids Management, Disinfection, Sampling and Laboratory Analysis, EPA Discharge Requirements, Environmental Applications and 12 hours of applied mathematics.

RMWAVE 132 - Advanced Wastewater Treatment Operations: This is a comprehensive course that covers all areas of applied operations and maintenance at the A and B license levels. Topics include, Operations and Maintenance, Safety, System Management, Laboratory Analysis, extended mathematics, Activated Sludge Systems, Solids Waste Management, Environmental Considerations, Regulation 100, Emergency Treatment Procedures, Nitrogen Removal, Phosphate Treatment. Topics are prepared in 4 and 2 hour increments.

RMWAVE 141 - Combined Level I-IV Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Systems: This is an in-depth, combined course program to discuss in detail O and M procedures within Water Distribution and Wastewater Collections Systems. The material is comprehensive of all four levels of operations. Topics include: Disinfection: Piping, Storage, Regulations, Appurtances, Safety Protocol, Mathematics, Disinfection, Record Keeping, Technical Operations, Pumping and Applied Maintenance. Wastewater Collection Systems: Industrial Pre-Treatment, Operations and Maintenance, Lift Stations, Dye Testing, Smoke Testing, Sewer Rehabilitation, Basic Engineering, Pumping, Safety, Field Work , Environmental Application, Applied mathematics and operations prioritizing strategies.
