Centerline Resource Courses

RMEC is pleased to welcome Center Line Resource to our instructional team. One and two day courses provide experiential learning in the most current techniques to verify and locate all underground utilities prior to worksite excavation.

RMEC 514 - Basic Utility Locator Training
This intensive one-day non-certification course is designed for every utility locator who needs a deeper understanding of the science and art of locating sub-surface utilities. The course is 50% classroom and 50% hands-on field training. Experienced and beginning locators alike will greatly benefit from this course. Command of the locating instrument is the focus of the course. The morning session is focused on theory and the science of how the instruments work. Various field examples are laid out to challenge and test new skills. Intuitive Quick Reference Manuals are provided with the training. Challenging written tests are used to gauge understanding and Certificates of Completion will be awarded to students scoring 80% or better. Participants should bring their own instruments unless other arrangements are made. Several instruments will be on hand for participant use and inspection, but we prefer to train participants on the machines they will be using in the field. Participants should also prepare for all weather conditions.

TIME: 1 Sessions, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
FEE: $285.00

The course addresses section four of the Common Ground Alliance Best Practices. The training consists of 35% classroom and 65% hands-on field training. The classroom segment is focused on science and theory allowing the participants a deeper understanding of how the instruments function. Field examples become increasingly more challenging. Complex, congested locating techniques are discussed and employed. Participants should bring their own instruments unless other arrangements are made. Several instruments will be on hand for participant use and inspection. Participants should be prepared for all weather conditions. Written and hands-on tests are used to gauge understanding and Certificates of Qualification will be awarded to students scoring 85% or better. Lesser grades will not receive certification.
