This course is intended to provide employees with essential awareness level knowledge and skills needed to work safe in and around an H2S environment. Industries that have a potential for exposure to Hydrogen Sulfide are: the petroleum industry (Oil and Gas), municipalities, utilities, research and development, laboratories, transportation, paper/pulp/food processing and chemical manufacturing companies. Through lectures, group discussion, hands-on exercises, equipment demonstrations and student participation with current hydrogen sulfide technology, each participant will gain the knowledge and competency require to recognize the potential presence and dangers of H2S. This (H2S) instruction program follows the ANSI Z390.1-1995 Hydrogen Sulfide Training Standard, as well as the current American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practices as the primary training criteria. It incorporates federal and state (H2S) regulatory standards and the established industry standards. A certificate of completion will be presented pending completion of the course and a passing score on the final examination.
