CETC 145 - Certified Stormwater Management Plan Administrator Training Program – Certified SWMP Administrator

Prerequisite:This is an intermediate level class. Industry professionals seeking the certification are required to have completed a basic, 8-hour construction stormwater training program within the past 3-years. Acceptable courses include the CDOT Erosion Control Supervisor Certification, Stormwater Management and Erosion Control During Construction (SMEC), SMEC for Oil & Gas Operations or BMP 101: Storm Water Management During Construction-Montana. For industry professionals having completed the basic 8-hour stormwater training longer than 3-years ago, they may still register for the course if they have completed other stormwater or water quality training within 3-years as continuing education (i.e. Conducting Compliance Inspections, Construction Dewatering, Developing and Implementing SWMPs, etc.)

This two-day program has been developed for the permit required Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) Administrator on construction sites in Colorado. The SWMP Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the SWMP from a day-to-day operational perspective. The training covers the responsibilities of the designated individual(s) and focuses on the necessary competencies to be successful in the role of the SWMP Administrator. The course includes group discussions, classroom exercises and a construction site field trip. The learning objectives of this course focus on the required competencies of this responsible person. Included focus for the course; the SWMP, Inspections, program oversight and using computer based programs and tablets for program development, implementation and modification. A representative of the CDPHE-WQCD will participate in this course. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a 3-Year Certification as a SWMP Administrator. Re-certification needs to be completed every 3-years. Students must successfully pass a written exam at the end of the course.

NOTE:Course participants will need to bring a hardhat, safety vest, safety glassesand wear appropriate footwear to visit local construction sites on the second day of the class.


This Class can be taught at your facility.  We suggest a minimum of 12 students to make it cost effective for you, however we are happy to provide you a bid for fewer than 12.
